The Pearl River Collection is a new boutique line dedicated to publishing important classic and neglected martial arts films from Asia in editions that offer the highest technical quality available and original supplements and content. Each film will be restored from the best available elements to provide an experience closest to the original vision of the filmmakers experienced upon release. Pearl River’s commitment is presenting each film in editions designed to deepen the viewer’s understanding and knowledge of these cult favorite films through experts in the field and contemporary filmmakers and fans.
Pearl River announces the inaugural release to their new line: Lee Tso Nam’s The Leg Fighters, Hua Shan’s Dynamo and Richard Yeung Keun’s Duel of the Seven Tigers.
The Leg Fighters (Invincible Kung Fu Legs)
Synopsis: Phoenix (Hwa Kwan-Li) is a rebellious young student in martial arts, so when her father brings in a new Kung Fu instructor, high-kicking Tan Hai-Chi (Tan Tao Liang), she will find herself having to shape up quickly as a deadly master approaches (Peng Kang) looking for Tan to avenge his brother’s death. With action scenes from Sun Jung-Chi and Peng Kang, the fights set new standards in kicking choreography under the knowledgeable action eye of Lee Tso Nam (The Hot, The Cool and The Vicious).

Duel of the Seven Tigers
Synopsis: A reworking of Kurosawa’s classic film The Seven Samurai in a Chinese martial arts adventure. A group of fighters must band together to defeat a fighter who seems all but unstoppable. The film is known for featuring an impressive cast of fighters and martial arts movie notables Phillip Ko Fei (The Dragon, The Hero), Cliff Lok (The Ring of Death), Han Ying-Chieh (The Big Boss), Cassanova Wong (Warriors Two) and Hung Gar expert Chiu Chi Ling.
