New Releases

The newest restorations and first-time-on-disc titles from VCI Entertainment, updated as each wave ships. Everything here has come out of the restoration suite recently — new 4K and 2K scans, rediscovered features and double bills assembled from the surviving elements.

The Latest Restorations

Current arrivals include the Creepy-Creature Double-Feature of The Slime People and The Crawling Hand, both from a new 4K restoration, and the Film Noir Classics Double Feature pairing Borderline (1950) with D.O.A. (1949). Impact (1949) arrives as a Blu-ray and DVD collector's edition, and The Gay Desperado is out in a special collector's edition. Also newly released: Quackser Fortune Has a Cousin in the Bronx, the Gene Wilder comedy shot in Dublin; the drama Out of Season on Blu-ray and DVD; First Love; and The Naked Witch.

The Psychotronica Collection

A new line devoted to the stranger corners of American exploitation cinema. Volume one is Delinquent Schoolgirls, presented from a 4K UHD restoration, and volume two is Mondo Keyhole, from a 2K restoration. Both are Blu-ray releases.

Golden Age Mexican Cinema, Newly Restored

A large share of the current release slate comes from VCI's ongoing programme of restoring Mexican features, all presented in Spanish with English subtitles. Recent additions include Aca Las Tortas, Ahi Vienen Los Gorrones, Capitan de Rurales, El Cuerpazo del Delito, El Niño y la Niebla, El Proceso de las Señoritas Vivanco, Janitzio, Por Ellas Aunque Mal Paguen and Traigo Mi 45. The wrestling classic Santos Contra Hombres Infernales — Santo vs Infernal Men — is also newly available on Blu-ray.

Poverty Row Classics

An ongoing double-feature series drawn from the low-budget American studios of the 1930s and 1940s. Volume one pairs King of the Zombies with Miss V from Moscow; volume two pairs East Side Kids (1940) with Let's Get Tough (1942).
