But Jamie discovers he is the long-lost son of an Earl and Countess, and his father wants him to leave the island for a noble future. Believing she would hold him back, Marget sends Jamie away and, heartbroken, sets herself adrift at sea. Jamie races through the storm to rescue her, and the ordeal softens the Earl’s heart, allowing the couple to finally build a future together.
