A lavish musical version of the life of composer Jerome Kern, who created some of America’s finest entertaining musical comedies of the 40’s. Excellent photography and top performances by a cast that affectionately pay homage to Kern and his wonderful music include Frank Sinatra singing “Old Man River”. Judy Garland, in delightful sequences directed by Vincente Minelli, play music comedy star Marilyn Miller at the opening of Kern’s classic SHOWBOAT. All is concluded by a skillfully massive finale in this delightful musical that is great fun.
